A-YUR-VEDA is a physician-led integrated medical clinic. The information you share with us — at booking, in consultation, when ordering from our shop, or when subscribing to our resources — is treated with the same care as any patient record. This page explains what we collect, why, and how it is protected. It applies to all of our online surfaces, including a-yur-veda.com and our Shopify shop.

Information we collect

We collect only what is necessary to deliver our services and fulfil orders.

When you place an order through our shop, our checkout (powered by Shopify) collects your name, billing and shipping addresses, email address, phone number, and payment details. Payment information is processed by Shopify Payments and is never stored on our servers.

When you book a consultation through Jane App, you provide your name, contact details, and the clinical information requested in the intake forms. Health information collected through Jane App is held within Jane App's secure, Canadian-hosted patient records system and is governed by the same privacy obligations that apply to any other healthcare record in Ontario.

When you subscribe to our Free Resources or newsletter, we collect your name and email address.

When you visit this website, we automatically receive standard log information (IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring site) and cookie data, used to operate the site, prevent fraud, and understand traffic patterns.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

Process and ship your orders, and to contact you about them
Schedule consultations, send appointment reminders, and maintain your patient record
Send the newsletter or resources you subscribed to
Respond to your enquiries
Improve our website and services
Meet our legal, tax, and professional obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information for purposes you have not consented to.

Health information

Information collected during a consultation or through Jane App intake forms is personal health information and is held to the standards required of any regulated healthcare practice in Ontario, including the Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 (PHIPA). It is stored within Jane App, accessed only by Dr. Arlini Singh and authorised clinic staff, and disclosed only with your written consent or where required by law.

Your health information is never shared with marketing platforms, advertising networks, or third parties outside the circle of care.

Sharing your information

We share information only with the categories of service provider that make our practice possible. These currently include, but are not limited to:

The e-commerce platform that powers our shop, accepts payments, and stores customer order history
The patient records and booking platform that holds appointment and clinical information
The website hosting and content platform that delivers our website pages, blog, and Free Resources
Email service providers that send newsletters, order receipts, appointment reminders, and other transactional messages
Automation and integration services that move information between the platforms above (for example, to apply a booking deposit credit to a post-consult invoice)
Shipping carriers that deliver your orders
Payment processors that handle your card transaction

Each of these providers is bound by their own privacy obligations and processes your information only on our instructions and only to perform the service we have contracted them for.

We do not name the specific commercial brands here so that this policy remains accurate as we change tools. You may write to info@a-yur-veda.com at any time for the current list of named providers.

We may also disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, property, or safety.

Cookies and tracking

This website uses cookies — small data files placed on your device — to keep your shopping cart working, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use the site.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or remarketing pixels.

Data retention

We retain your information for as long as needed to fulfil the purpose it was collected for and to meet our legal and tax obligations. Patient health records are retained for the period required by Ontario healthcare regulation. Order records are retained for at least seven years to meet Canada Revenue Agency requirements.

Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA), and Ontario health privacy law (PHIPA) where applicable, you have the right to:

Know what personal information we hold about you
Request a copy of that information
Request correction of inaccurate information
Withdraw consent for non-essential uses (such as marketing)
File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario

International visitors

We ship and consult worldwide. If you are visiting from outside Canada, please be aware that your information will be transferred to and processed in Canada and the other jurisdictions named above, which may have data protection laws different from those of your home country. By using this website or our services, you consent to this transfer.

Children's privacy

Our website and services are not directed to children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated by email to subscribers and patients on our list.
